Patient Participation Group

What is a patient participation group?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteer patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet regularly to discuss and support the running of their GP practice.

We are actively seeking a new chair and secretary to continue to run the Rydal PPG. Please contact Michelle Playford via rydalgp@nhs.net if you are interested in taking on one of the roles. The aim is to:

  • Offer opinions in a constructive manner and to put forward ideas on behalf of other patients.
  • Improve the provision of health care.
  • Improve communication between surgery, patients and the wider community about matters concerning the surgery and health in general.
  • provide assistance in development of new services.
  • encourage a spirit of self help and support amongst patients to improve their health and social care.
